Leaving town and leaving children behind with a grandparent is a lot of work! Will this trip be worth it? Most definitely yes, but I imagine I will be exhausted the first 24 hours after leaving. Our flight leaves tomorrow at 1:30–we’ll leave here about 11:00ish to get to the airport, through security, etc. with time to spare. So, I have 24 hours to get my children’s activities, schedules and information organized for my mother in law, a multitude of errands run, sing at a funeral, teach choir, and get a lot work done and even more organized for my employees while I’m gone. This trip overlaps with a huge work weekend for us–there aren’t many, but this would be one of them.
This is definitely one of those days when I’d like to be a Walmart greeter–I’d be so good at that–and I could just walk away from my work, worry free. And did I mention that our house is a mess?
